Gregory Hooks is Professor of Sociology at Mcmaster University. His research examines spatial inequality, militarism, environmental sociology and sociology of development. He edited The Sociology of Development Handbook (University of California Press) and is past-chair of the Sociology of Development Section (American Sociological Association). He serves on the editorial board of the Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society and is co-editor of a special issue on riskscapes (forthcoming).
